Dr. Tony Beugelsdijk: I am a co-founder of the ALA and currently a manager at Los Alamos National Laboratory. I'm currently working on automation systems for the characterization of infectious agents.

Dr. Tom Brumback, Ph.D.: 20 year veteran in lab and field automation in plant biotechnology arena. ALA member since the beginning with interest in automation beyond typical pharma.

Andrea Chow, Ph.D.: I am a chemical engineer by training, and have been developing microfluidics lab automation tools for commercial applications in the last decade.

Dr. Raymond Dessy: 50 years of research in organometallic chemistry, reaction kinetics, lab automation, e-lab-notebooks, programming, biosensors, surface plasmon resonance, HTS, ccd spectroscopy, surface-acoustic-waves,& plasmonics. Dr. Marcia Eisenberg: I am currently a Vice President and Senior Director of research/development and automation of new tests and technologies for LabCorp, the second largest Clinical Diagnostics Laboratory in the U.S. I studied at the State University of New York at Albany and the University of Kentucky.

Mr. Marc Feiglin, M.B.A.,B.S.: I have 20 years of experience in the application of laboratory automation in a variety of fields including HTS, protein crystallography, NA sample preparation, and information management. I am a founding member of ALA and am currently CTO for Life Science Research at Tecan Group.

Dr. Jay Gill, Ph.D.: I have more years of laboratory automation experience than I will admit to. I have developed informatics systems for image and data analysis as well as large and small automated screening systems.

Peter Grandsard: Trained in Chemical Engineering and Analytical Chemistry. At Amgen responsible for Research & Automation Technologies (R&AT) and Process Analyticals & Separations (PAS). R&AT groups automation and instrumentation specialists, who deploy automation technologies across R&D. PAS provides separation, purification and characterization support for small molecule process research and development.

Mr. Douglas Gurevitch, P.E.: Mechanical Engineering registered Professional Engineer with M.S. in robotics. Experience ranges from FDA regulated medical device design and manufacture to system integration of laboratory automation and custom equipment design.

Dr. David Herold, Ph.D.,M.D.: I am a Co-founder of ALA and am currently Professor of Pathology Chief, Clinical Chemistry and Immunology.

Dr. Jeffrey Hurst, Ph.D.: Experience in bioanalytical chemistry with food related compounds and biological specimens. Continual early implementer of numerous analytical techniques most recently biosenors as applied to food analysis

Paul Kayne, Ph.D.: Paul Kayne runs the Expression Technology Group at Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.

Dr. ANNE KOPF-SILL, Ph.D.: I have nearly 20 years working in biotech industry developing products to simplifyy diagnostic testing and laboratory processes.

Dr. Jorg Kutter, Ph.D.: I am trained in analytical chemistry; Currently I am involved in teaching and research within micro-total analysis systems or lab-on-a-chip systems.

Mr. Jon Reissner: I run a manufacturing company that designs and produces conveyors and accessories that are used for factory and lab automation, machines, layouts, and systems. My education is in economics.

Dr. Mark Russo, Ph.D.: I have a Ph.D. in engineering and more than 16 years in the field of laboratory automation. My areas of expertice include system control and laboratory informatics. I am also the Executive Editor of JALA.

Mrs. Nutan Sampat, Other: Experienced Physicist: medically oriented nano-optics, membranes, optical sprectroscopy, numerical biofluid-dynamics, fluorescence, photometry, calorimetry, cryophysics, heat propagation in solids, smattering of polymer chemistry, SAP finance software. Highly interdisciplinary work.

Dr. Giles Sanders, Ph.D.: I have a background in Physical Chemistry from Oxford University and followed a career in applications of micro and nanotechnoloogy in chemical and biochemical systems and for the last 5 years have been a consultant at the Technology Partnership.

Dr. Reinhold Schaefer, Other: I am a faculty member at the University of Applied Sciences Wiesbaden Germany. My actual work is concentrated on automation, data warehousing, workflow optimization, and scheduling. I have about 30 years of experience in laboratory automation, especially in the pharmaceutical industry.

Dr. William Sonnefeld, Ph.D.: I worked for more than 20 years in Laboratory Automation and Process Analytical Chemistry areas at Kodak. More recently , I am an independent consultant on Lean Six Sigma and Design for Six Sigma affiliated with PDSS, Inc.

Dr. Torsten Staab: Mr. Staab is currently a team leader for Homeland Security Technologies at Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM, USA.

Dr. Jim Sterling, Ph.D.: I'm a faculty member at KGI with interest in microfluidics. Our group works on chip-based CE of DNA, electrowetting, bacterial spore lysis methods and development of integrated amplification-based biochips

Dr. KERSTIN THUROW, Ph.D.: I have a PhD in Chemistry, habilitation in measurement and control, and am currently Prof. for Life Science Automation at the Center for Life Science Automation, University Rostock.

Dr. Steven Vidakovic, Ph.D.: Ph.D. in Aerodynamics/Fluidmechanics Master of Science in Technology Management

Mr. Shane Weber: I have working expertise in intellectual property assessment, diagnostic biomarkers, functional genomics, molecular biology, protein biochemistry and biophysics, CCD camera and laser imaging, SBIR NIH grant review, and currently I am Director of Technology at Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, a Johnson & Johnson company.
