Submission Guidelines

LabAutomation2010 is the premier conference and exhibition promoting knowledge-sharing, peer networking, and connections among industry and academic leaders. This is also true of the world's top 100 laboratory automation podium presentations featured at our conference, all of which exemplify our commitment to bringing science, technology and industry together through the following educational tracks:
  • Detection and Separation
  • Micro- and Nanotechnologies
  • High-Throughput Technologies
  • Informatics
  • Evolving Applications of Laboratory Automation, featuring Agriculture and Food

Abstracts relevant to any of these tracks will be accepted and reviewed by ALA's Scientific Committee.

Authors are invited to submit abstracts describing original research on topics relevant to any of the five program tracks for either poster or podium presentation. Abstracts may be no longer than 450 words. If abstracts exceed this length, they will be returned. Abstracts should describe original work not previously published, and address why the work is novel. Importantly, the abstract should clearly present the research itself and results that have been obtained. Abstracts will be assessed according to the novelty of the work, with an emphasis to abstracts that clearly detail results.

Electronic files must include complete contact information for all authors (this information does not count as part of the 450 word limit). Do not include references, diagrams, charts, or photographs in your abstract. Use any common font, such as Times New Roman, Arial, or Courier. We will reformat all abstracts for uniformity.

Note regarding the ALA Innovation Award:
The ALA Innovation Award judging process is extensive and requires the panel of judges review and evaluate hundreds of scientific abstract submissions. To ensure your abstract receives optimal consideration, please include information on methods, results and conclusions.

Abstract Policies

The curriculum for the LabAutomation2010 conference and short courses is peer reviewed and exclusively focused as a scientific educational conference, in keeping with the organizational non-profit status and mission. Podium and poster presentations are not commercial forums unless specifically approved and designated as such. Individuals should refrain from the use of brand names and specific product endorsement whenever possible. We also expect that all presentations are presented with the professionalism and decorum befitting a world-class scientific program that attracts attendees from diverse backgrounds, countries and professions.

All authors understand that the presentation title, abstract and author contact information will be published online at labautomation.org and in the printed Final Program.

By submitting an abstract for review or in response to an invitation, you agree to these guidelines.

Those authors whose abstracts are accepted are responsible for their own travel, lodging and conference registration expenses. Waiver of registration fees will be considered upon request for those requiring financial assistance. Contact Brenda Dreier at bdreier@labautomation.org for the Financial Assistance Form. All poster presenters must be registered as full conference, unless you are academic, government or an exhibitor.
